The Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station (ISS) will now launch on June 8, the mission was earlier scheduled to launch on May 29.

There will be some more delay in preparation for the journey of space after four decades. The Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station operated by Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla and three other crew members will now be launched on June 8 at 6:41 pm from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Earlier this mission was to be launched on May 29.

Axiom Space and NASA have announced that Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) will now launch on June 8, 2025. This mission was earlier scheduled for May 29, but it has been postponed after reviewing the flight schedule of the International Space Station (ISS). The new launch time is 9:11 AM EDT (6:41 PM IST), and it will be from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This human space journey will happen after 40 years
Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s journey to space in SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft is happening four decades after Rakesh Sharma’s historic flight in Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft in 1984. This is an important milestone in India’s space history.

Apart from Shubhanshu Shukla, the Ax-4 mission also includes astronauts from Poland and Hungary. This is the first manned journey to the International Space Station (ISS) for these two countries and the second manned space flight sponsored by these countries in the last 40 years. This mission symbolizes the beginning of a new era in international cooperation and space exploration.

Shubhshu Shukla will conduct 7 experiments
This is the second government-sponsored human space flight mission in more than 40 years. Shubhanshu Shukla will conduct seven experiments in space, which aim to encourage microgravity research in India. He hopes to build his own space station by 2035 and send astronauts to the Moon by 2047. ISRO has drawn up plans to conduct experiments on the ISS focused on India-centric food, including sprouting methi (fenugreek) and mung (green gram) in microgravity conditions.

The Axiom-4 (X-4) mission will also include European Space Agency (ESA) project astronaut Slawoj Uznanski, who will be the second Polish astronaut since 1978. Tibor Kapu will be the second national Hungarian astronaut since 1980. Peggy Whitson will command her second commercial human spaceflight mission, adding to her standing record for the longest total time spent in space by an American astronaut. The X-4 crew will fly to the space station aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft and stay for 14 days aboard the orbiting lab.
