NCP left out by BJP-Shiv Sena
Although the BJP and Shiv Sena are contesting the elections in an alliance, Ajit Pawar’s party has been left out of the local body elections, even though they are part of the state government and he is the Deputy Chief Minister. The BMC elections are scheduled for January 15th. The 227 seats have been divided between the BJP and Shiv Sena, with 150 seats already allocated. An agreement is expected soon on the remaining 77 seats. However, negotiations on these seats are likely to be tense between the two parties. According to sources, the BJP is only willing to offer 55 seats, while the Shiv Sena is demanding 90 seats.
