After the approval of the Integrated Pension Scheme, PM Narendra Modi wrote on X that we are proud of all the government employees who work hard for the progress of the country. UPS’s move shows our government’s commitment to their welfare and secure future. While PM Modi described this scheme as better for the future of the employees, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge targeted PM Modi regarding this.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took a dig at the Central Government’s Integrated Pension Scheme i.e. UPS and said that ‘U’ in UPS means Modi government’s U turn. After June 4, the power of the people has dominated the arrogance of the Prime Minister’s power. Kharge posted on X and wrote by making points,
- Rollback in the budget regarding long term capital gain/indexation
- Sending Waqf Bill to JPC
- Withdrawal of Broadcast Bill
- Rollback of Lateral Entry
The U in UPS stands for Modi Govts U turns!
Post June 4, the power of the people has prevailed over the arrogance of power of the Prime Minister.

After this, he wrote at the end of the post that we will continue to ensure accountability and save 140 crore Indians from this dictatorial government. Mallikarjun Kharge surrounded the central government from Waqf Bill to Broadcast Bill and rollback of lateral entry. Although he did not call the unified scheme a fraud or wrong, but he definitely targeted PM Modi through this.
What is there in UPS?
Ever since the approval of the Unified Pension Scheme, many opposition leaders have been besieging the central government regarding this. It will be implemented in the month of April next year. Under this, the central government employees will get a fixed pension and the employees will deposit 10 percent of their salary for pension, while the government will give 18.5 percent. Till now the government was giving 14 percent. In UPS, the government employee will get a lump sum amount in addition to the fixed pension after 25 years of service. In the Unified Pension Scheme, this pension will be increased according to the inflation rate. Apart from this, after 25 years of service, at least 50 percent of the last salary will have to be given as pension and after 10 years of service, a pension of Rs 10,000 will be given. Earlier, there was no such provision in NPS.
