Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and 3 other crew members of NASA’s Axiom-4 mission are going to return to Earth soon and all preparations have been made for this. NASA has revealed the date when all these astronauts will return to Earth. NASA has informed that all the astronauts including Shubhanshu Shukla are ready to return to Earth from the International Space Station on July 14.
What did NASA say?
Steve Stich, manager of NASA’s ‘National Aeronautics and Space Administration’ Commercial Crew Program, spoke to the media on Thursday about the return of Shubhanshu Shukla and other astronauts. He said – “We are working on the station program and are closely monitoring the progress of Axiom-4. I think we will have to undock that mission and its current target is July 14.”
Shubhanshu Shukla became a farmer in space
During the space journey, Shubhanshu Shukla played the role of a farmer in the last phase. He has grown moong and fenugreek in a ‘petri dish’. Shukla kept them in the freezer of the International Space Station and also shared their picture. Its purpose is to know how microgravity affects germination and early growth of plants. These seeds will be grown for several generations and changes in genetics, microbial ecosystem and nutritional profile will be detected.
