The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action in connection with the medical college inspection report scandal. The central investigating agency, taking major action today (Thursday, November 27), conducted simultaneous raids at 15 locations across 10 states. These raids are related to a case in which government officials are accused of paying bribes in exchange for leaking medical college inspection reports.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed an FIR on June 30, 2025, alleging that certain government officials, particularly those with the National Medical Commission (NMC), were paid money and, in return, provided confidential medical college reports to outsiders.
Simultaneous raids at 15 locations across the country
These reports allowed medical college management and middlemen to obtain approval to start courses by altering documents. The ED team today conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. It is reported that a total of 15 locations were covered. These raids are targeting seven medical colleges located in different states across the country.
What is the whole matter?
In addition, raids are currently underway at the homes and offices of some private individuals named as accused in the FIR. The central investigating agency suspects that crores of rupees have been embezzled in this entire racket and that medical colleges were granted course approvals through fraudulent means. The raids are currently underway. Only after the raids are complete will the ED determine what crucial evidence the accused have recovered. If concrete evidence is found against the accused, their arrest is certain. This case is directly related to medical college courses, meaning it directly impacts the future of the nation’s children, and therefore, the ED is conducting a thorough investigation.
