The indefinite strike of Allahabad High Court lawyers against the decision of the Supreme Court Collegium continued for the third day on Thursday. Today also the lawyers will protest at Gate No. 3 of the High Court. At the same time, a delegation of Allahabad High Court Bar Association met Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
The advocates are completely boycotting judicial work. The High Court Bar Association is opposing the transfer of Justice Verma to Allahabad High Court. The lawyers have announced a fight to the finish regarding Justice Yashwant Verma, who is surrounded by allegations of cash scandal. The advocates say that they will not allow Justice Yashwant Verma to take charge here at all.
Met the Union Law Minister
The High Court Bar Association has also appealed to the CJI to reconsider the decision of the Collegium. It has also appealed to the Central Government to intervene. During the meeting, the delegation informed Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal about the protest of the Bar Association and the agitation of the lawyers. Bar Association President Senior Advocate Anil Tiwari has given the information.
He told on the phone that the talks with the Union Law Minister were very positive. The Law Minister has listened to the lawyers’ side with full attention. The Union Law Minister got all the points noted by his staff. Anil Tiwari said that the talks have raised hopes that the Central Government is serious about the problems of Allahabad High Court lawyers. He has said that positive results are expected.

The Bar Association President said that it is expected that the Central Government will intervene in this matter. The advocates hope that from today to tomorrow they can get some good news from the Central Government. If the government intervenes, the advocates of Allahabad High Court can withdraw their strike on the issue of Justice Yashwant Verma. The delegation headed by Bar Association President Anil Tiwari met the Union Law Minister in Delhi. At the same time, the High Court’s photo identification center has also been closed indefinitely. Due to which the filing of new cases in Allahabad High Court has also come to a complete halt. An important meeting of former office bearers and senior advocates from outside will be held today at 2 pm to decide the future strategy.
