The Indian Coast Guard has seized a huge consignment of about five tonnes of drugs from a fishing boat in the Andaman waters. This is believed to be the largest consignment of drugs seized by the Indian Coast Guard so far. The defense official gave this information.
However, Coast Guard officials have not yet given information about the type of drugs and how much is its price? No information has been given about the interrogation and arrest in the case. Officials said that information will be given only after investigation of the case.
Drugs worth 6 crores seized in Bengaluru, 5 arrested
Earlier, on November 22, the police in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru seized two large consignments of drugs worth more than Rs 6 crore in separate operations and arrested five persons. Police suspect that these drugs were smuggled to Bengaluru and surrounding areas on the occasion of New Year celebrations.
In the first case, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested two foreigners in Soladevanahalli police station area. Banned drugs like MDMA crystal, cocaine and ecstasy pills were recovered from them. Police seized 1.5 kg MDMA crystal, 202 grams cocaine and 12 ecstasy pills. The cost of these drugs is said to be around three crore rupees. According to Police Commissioner B Dayanand, both these foreigners came to India on medical visa five years ago and they were also involved in selling drugs in Mumbai and Delhi.
In the second case, the police arrested three persons and seized 318 kg of ganja from them, which is worth Rs 3.25 crore. This drug was brought to Bengaluru from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Govindpura police arrested these accused on secret information when they were carrying ganja in a car. Police have also seized the vehicle.
