The Namo Bharat Train has been launched from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut. A large number of people are traveling on the Namo Bharat Train. On Monday, the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut network of the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) recorded its highest passenger count ever, crossing the 100,000 mark on its first day of launch.
This is the highest number ever recorded.
The National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) had earlier stated, “With the departure of the last train at 10 pm on Monday, the NCRTC expects the total passenger count to exceed 100,000.” The corporation further stated that this is the highest passenger count ever recorded on this corridor.
Enthusiasm among passengers traveling on the Meerut Rapid Train
Videos have surfaced of passengers traveling for the first time on the Namo Bharat Train. Passengers traveling on the Namo Bharat Train were seen to be very enthusiastic. Passengers were chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Jai Hind.” Meanwhile, passengers are eagerly waiting to board this new service from Meerut’s Begumpul station.
Long lines at ticket counters
Since the inauguration, long lines of passengers have formed at the ticket counters. Station staff assisted first-time travelers and explained safety protocols.
Journey from Delhi to Meerut in just 55 minutes
The Delhi-Meerut Rail Track System (RRTS) is 82.15 kilometers long and can reach speeds of up to 180 km per hour. The total cost of this network is ₹30,274 crore. The estimated travel time by RRTS from Delhi to Meerut is 55 minutes. Trains stop at all 16 stations with a 15-minute interval.
