The ‘Sardar@150 Padyatra,’ organized to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, concluded grandly today. Approximately fifty lakh people from across the country participated in this campaign, paying tribute to Sardar Patel, a symbol of national unity. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with several other dignitaries, were present at the event.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan said at the event, “India will forever be indebted to Sardar Patel, under whose leadership more than 560 princely states were integrated, laying the foundation for a united India.”
Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, in his remarks, said that this padyatra (foot march) was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) and ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). He said, “Sardar Patel’s vision is guiding India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.”
11-Day National Foot March
Dr. Mandaviya explained that to spread Sardar Patel’s principles to every corner of the country, this national foot march began on November 26th from his ancestral village and concluded 11 days later on December 6th at Ekta Nagar station. More than 8000 young men and women from 718 districts of the country participated in this main march.

Overwhelming Public Participation
Describing the public participation during the foot march, the minister said that along the way, people offered fruits from their fields to the participants, women arranged for water, and young people cleaned up litter while spreading the message of cleanliness. Mandaviya said it was wonderful to witness this.
Message of Unity, Self-Reliance, and Developed India
Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that this journey has given a very important message to the country. “Sardar Patel spoke of unity and farmer welfare, which remain relevant even today. Prime Minister Modi’s message of ‘Developed India’ and ‘Self-Reliant India,’ combined with Sardar Patel’s message of unity, will take the country to new heights by 2047.”
Large-scale event
The minister informed that under the ‘Sardar@150’ program, one-day marches were held in 750 districts across the country, totaling 1500 marches. Approximately 5 million people participated in these events, competitions, and programs, spreading the message of unity to every corner of the country.
Representatives from various political and social organizations, including the NDA constituent parties, also participated in this historic march, making it a collaborative national celebration.
