The US Supreme Court on Monday gave a big decision in favor of Trump. The court has said that no legal action can be taken on the decisions taken by Trump while he was the President. The Supreme Court’s decision has come regarding the riots of 6 January 2021. The court said that Trump cannot be prosecuted for official decisions. Trump had filed a case against this in the lower court of Washington and appealed that criminal cases should be run against him and he should be exempted as a former president. Although the lower court rejected Trump’s appeal, the Supreme Court has now overturned the decision of the lower court. Trump has got another relief after Trump’s success in the debate between Biden and Trump last week.
Accused of rigging the election
On January 6, 2021, Trump’s supporters committed violence in Capitol Hill i.e. US Parliament. In the 2020 presidential election voting, Biden got 306 votes and Trump got 232 votes, after which Trump and his supporters resorted to violence alleging rigging in the election. Trump’s supporters entered the Parliament and vandalized and committed violence, in which 5 people including a police officer died. After the violence, Trump was accused of inciting his supporters. In this case, in December last year, the investigation committee prepared a report, in which Trump was blamed. Statements of 1000 eyewitnesses were recorded in it. At the same time, more than 900 people were accused.
Presidential elections are going to be held in the US on November 5 this year. Before the election, there was a live debate between Republican and Democratic Party candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden, in which Trump appeared to be stronger than Biden.
