There is a continuous conflict in Central Asia. There has been no reduction in attacks from Israel. Israel has now made Lebanon the center of attack along with Palestine. Israel’s bloody conflict with Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon has intensified. The Lebanese Health Ministry said that at least 22 people were killed and dozens were injured in Israeli air strikes in central Beirut on Thursday evening. At the same time, 27 people died in another attack on a Gaza school.
According to a photographer of news agency AP present at the scene, Israeli attacks targeted 2 residential buildings in different areas of western Beirut, causing one multi-storey building to collapse and the lower building in the other to be destroyed.
Israeli attacks continue in Beirut
On the other hand, the Israeli army said that it is investigating the alleged attacks on Lebanon’s capital Beirut. Israeli airstrikes are far more common in Beirut’s densely populated southern suburbs, where Hezbollah conducts many of its operations.
After a year of bitter standoff between Hezbollah and Israel before Thursday’s attacks, the fighting has intensified in recent weeks. Israel is now launching heavy ground attacks into Lebanon. Hezbollah has expanded its rocket attacks to more populated areas inside Israel, killing some people but disrupting life.
The attack came the same day Israeli security forces opened fire on UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, wounding two of them. The attack was widely condemned and the Italian defense ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador to protest.
2 thousand people have died in Lebanon so far
Before the recent attacks in Beirut, Lebanon’s Crisis Response Unit said 28 people were killed in Israeli attacks the previous day, bringing the total number of people killed in Lebanon since the conflict began last October to 2,169.
Since the conflict began in the Gulf region, 28 civilians have been killed in northern Israel in Hezbollah attacks, in addition to 39 Israeli soldiers. This includes soldiers killed in southern Lebanon since the ground attack by northern Israel in October last year. 1.2 million people have been forced to be displaced in Lebanon since the conflict began.
Despite the focus on Israel’s war against Hezbollah in Lebanon and growing tensions with Iran, Israel continues its attack on Palestinian militants’ bases in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli attack on school in Gaza
Palestinian medical officials said at least 27 people were killed in an Israeli attack on a school sheltering displaced people in central Gaza on Thursday. Although the Israeli army said it targeted Palestinian militants, people taking refuge there said a meeting was going on to help when the attack took place.
Israeli attacks also targeted the central Beirut area. Eyewitnesses say that a large number of ambulances and people were gathered around damaged buildings at two places in central Beirut that were victims of the attack. Regarding the attack, the Lebanese Health Ministry said that 22 people were killed and 117 others were injured. But their identity was not given in detail. However, it was also not clear who was targeted in the attack.
Recently, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and other senior commanders were killed in Israeli air strikes in areas adjacent to Beirut, especially the densely populated southern suburbs of the city. In the Ras al-Nabaa neighbourhood, the airstrike targeted the lower part of an eight-story apartment building. Israeli troops invaded southern Lebanon last month on September 30 and the fighting continues.
