The meeting between the central government and farmer organizations is going on in Chandigarh. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also present in this meeting. Meeting continues in Chandigarh

Let us tell you that a meeting is being held between the protesting farmers and the Center on Saturday evening. In this, many demands including the legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) of crops are to be discussed. This meeting between the central team and farmer leaders is taking place at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Public Administration in Chandigarh. Earlier in the meeting held on February 14, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi had said that Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will lead the central team for the meeting to be held with the protesting farmers on February 22.

Pandher expressed hope from the government

Before the meeting, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said on Saturday that the delegation of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha will participate in the meeting with a positive attitude. He said that the farmers hope that the government will resolve their issues as soon as possible. The farmers had demanded to hold the next meeting in Delhi, but the government said to organize it in Chandigarh. Farmer leaders said that the 28-member delegation of farmers will strongly put forward its side in the meeting. He said that the agitation has been going on for the last one year regarding various demands including legal guarantee on MSP.
