Amid the controversy over adulteration in Tirupati temple laddus, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s daughter on Wednesday declared that she is a believer in Lord Venkateswara before visiting the Tirumala temple. The Deputy Chief Minister’s youngest daughter Palina Anjani Konidela is reportedly not a Hindu and as per the rules of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), the official custodian of Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, non-Hindus have to make a declaration regarding their faith in the deity before visiting the temple.
“Palina Anjani Konidela gave a declaration for darshan of Srivari (deity) at Tirumala. She signed the documents provided by TTD staff,” the Janasena press release said. Since Palina Anjani is a minor, her father Pawan Kalyan has also given his consent on the documents.”
Pawan Kalyan is doing 11-day penance
Kalyan is doing 11-day penance to atone for the alleged sins committed by the previous Yuvajana Sramika Raithu Congress Party (YSRCP) government and for this he is currently on a three-day visit to the temple. This announcement is considered important because BJP leaders and many Hindu organizations had demanded that YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who belongs to Christianity, should issue a similar declaration before visiting the temple. However, this visit was canceled.
Jagan Mohan Reddy had canceled the visit
Let us tell you that recently YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy canceled the visit to the temple. It is worth noting that NDA allies had demanded Jagan Reddy to declare his faith before entering the temple. At the same time, while addressing a press conference, Jagan had said that he cannot go to Tirupati as the police have issued a notice to his party leaders and workers warning them not to join him in his temple visit.
