So far, a total of 78 members from the party of 44-year-old Indian-origin leader Rishi Sunak have refused to participate in the general election. Recently, Cabinet Ministers Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom have announced not to contest the elections this time.

Prime Minister Theresa can also step back

Leedsom also released her letter shortly after Michael. Leadsom wrote her letter to Sunak in which she said that after much thought, I have decided not to stand as a candidate in the upcoming election. Among the senior MPs, if possible, former Prime Minister Theresa can also step back from this race, apart from them, former Defense Minister Ben Wallace has also announced to leave politics.
