Kiev: Ukraine has carried out a drone attack in Russia in which 5 people are reported dead. Local officials in Russia said on Saturday that at least 5 people were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Kursk region of their country. On the other hand, in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, rescue workers were seen removing the debris of a 9-storey residential building that collapsed in a Russian attack, in which one person was killed. Governor Alexei Smirnov said on social media that 2 children were also among the victims of the Ukrainian attack in the village of Gorodische on the Russia-Ukraine border.
Russia has been targeting Ukraine’s infrastructure
Regional chief Serhiy Lisak said at least one person was killed and 12 people, including a 7-month-old girl, were injured after the upper 4 floors of a building were destroyed after a Russian attack on Friday evening in Dnipro. Lisak said the attacks came as Russia continued to deploy its forces in several areas along the 1,000-kilometer (600-mile) front. Moscow has stepped up airstrikes to destroy Ukraine’s resources and often targets energy production centers and other critical infrastructure.
‘We shot down 10 Russian drones overnight’
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the country has lost about 80 percent of its thermal power capacity and a third of its hydropower capacity due to Russian attacks. Discussing the attack in Dnipro, Zelensky said it was a warning to Ukraine’s allies that the country needs more air defense systems. The Ukrainian Air Force said on Saturday that it had shot down 10 Russian drones overnight. Let us tell you that both sides have suffered a lot in this battle that has been going on for months, but the condition of Ukraine has worsened.
