Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party wins the assembly elections to be held in Delhi on February 5, the national capital will be free from traffic jams and air pollution within five years. Emphasizing the benefits of a ‘double engine’ government, Gadkari said, “If there is a Modi government at the Center and a BJP government in Delhi, the progress of the capital will become 10 times faster like a bullet train.” Addressing a public meeting in Nangloi Jat, the senior BJP leader promised to free Delhi from problems like air pollution, traffic congestion and garbage management.
He said, “I promise you. If you put the BJP engine in the Delhi government, we will free Delhi from traffic jams and air pollution within five years. I promise this.” Gadkari also accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of failing to address the water and pollution crisis of the national capital.
He said, ‘The people you trusted neither cared about drinking water nor talked about purifying the Yamuna.’ Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
