Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said at a program in Nagpur that there are immense possibilities in the aviation sector and the number of airports across the country will increase from 75 to 150.

Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari arrived in Nagpur on Saturday. He attended the three-day annual program on civil aviation organized by the Air Traffic Controllers Guild of India. He called for upgrading technology and regulations in the aviation sector, including air traffic control, to global standards. He stated that the country’s aviation sector holds immense potential. Gadkari noted that the number of airports in the country has increased from 75 to 150.

Potential in the Aviation Sector
On this occasion, Nitin Gadkari stated that when his government came to power in 2014, the Prime Minister gave the highest priority to infrastructure development. Our four basic infrastructures, which are very important, are water, power, transport, and communication. If these four are developed, it will increase employment, eliminate poverty, and create a self-reliant India. Nitin Gadkari stated that the aviation sector holds immense potential, as the number of airports in the country has increased from 75 to 150. He said that this sector has grown by 22 percent in recent years.

The role of air traffic controllers is crucial
Nitin Gadkari said that Nagpur is located in the center of the country and could potentially become the hub of air traffic control in India. He said that there is a need to eliminate old and obsolete rules and introduce new rules in accordance with global standards without compromising safety. He said that the new rules will improve this sector. Nitin Gadkari said that the role of air traffic controllers is very important for the dream of a developed India.

One day, he called the Chairman of the Airport Authority and said, “What you call a sea plane, I call it a flying boat. You have the right to make laws, so do I.”
