Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said in Nagpur about caste based politics, “Whoever talks about caste, I will kick him hard”, said that no person becomes great because of his caste, religion, language or sect

Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big statement against caste-based politics. He said that no person should be discriminated against on the basis of caste, religion, language or gender. The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader addressed the convocation ceremony held at the Nagpur-based ‘Central India Group of Institutions’ on Saturday. During this, he said, “Jo karega jaat ki baat, use kaske maara unga laat”. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that he believes that no person becomes great because of his caste, religion, language or creed but he becomes great because of his qualities.

‘No compromise on principles’

Nitin Gadkari said, “Therefore, we do not discriminate against anyone on the basis of his caste, religion, gender or language.” Gadkari said, “I am in politics and many things happen but I go my own way. If someone wants to vote for me, he can do so and if someone does not want to vote, he is free to do so as well.” He said, ”My friends ask me why did you say this or why did you take such a stand. I tell them that losing an election does not end anyone. I will not compromise on my principles and will continue to follow them in my personal life.”

‘Education is necessary for development” Gadkari also stressed on the importance of education for the development of society and the country. He said that many years ago when he was an MLA, he had helped a Muslim educational institution to get an engineering college to promote education among the people of the Muslim community. Gadkari said that questions were raised on this decision of his. He said, “The class which needs education the most is the Muslim community.” Gadkari said that the words of former President APJ Abdul Kalam have been heard by every person in the world. He said, “When a person rises above his caste, religion, gender or language, he becomes great.”
