A tragic incident took place in Bareilly, UP on Wednesday evening. 3 women died in an explosion in an illegal firecracker factory, while 5 people were injured after being buried under the debris. 2 children are also missing after this accident, a rescue operation is being carried out to search for them. There were explosions one after the other in the firecracker factory which continued for about two hours. The entire village was shaken by the explosions, there was screaming all around.

It is being told that the business of making illegal firecrackers was going on in the house of Rehman Shah in Kalyanpur village of Sirauli police station area. Yesterday there was a blast while making firecrackers. The explosion was so strong that many nearby houses also came under its grip. 5 houses collapsed in this incident, 3 have developed cracks. Police and relief rescue team reached the spot after getting the news of the incident. SDRF and NDRF teams also reached. Five people buried under the debris were taken out but two missing children are being searched.

The echo of the blast in Bareilly reached Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately came into action and gave instructions to speed up the relief and rescue work. Meanwhile, the police of the local police station, which failed to stop this illegal firecracker factory, has been reprimanded. One inspector has been suspended while 4 policemen including two sub-inspectors have been suspended.

Inspector General of Police (Bareilly Range) Rakesh Singh said, “Three people died and many were injured in an explosion in a firecracker factory in Sirauli area of ​​​​Bareilly district.” He said that 7-8 nearby buildings have also been damaged due to the explosion and the operator of the factory has been identified as Nasir. He said that it has been told that he had a license and the details of the license are being investigated.

There were orders for Diwali, work was going on day and night
The villagers told that Nasir Khan was running a firecracker factory for a long time and he had a license. He had big orders for Diwali, so work was going on day and night. The villagers said that many laborers were working here but there were no special arrangements like security and work was going on on a pile of gunpowder.

What did the SSP say?

Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya said the incident took place around 4 pm. “According to preliminary investigation, it has been found that Nasir had a license from some other place and the house where the blast took place belongs to his in-laws,” he said. Arya ruled out the possibility of the presence of any other explosive material for the blast and said, “We have recovered burst firecrackers from the spot. Prima facie, it seems that the blast was caused by them.” The officer said the investigation into the case is underway and appropriate action will be taken against those found involved in the case.
