Unnao: A major accident took place in Safipur area of Unnao district of UP on Sunday afternoon. Here, 6 people died and 20 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus full of passengers and a truck. Safipur Police Area Officer (CO) Rishi Kant Shukla said that near Jamaldipur village of Safipur Kotwali area, a bus full of passengers and a truck collided head-on and the collision was so severe that the truck broke one side of the bus. Shukla said that in this incident, six people traveling on the bus died and 20 others were injured. According to the CO, 11 people have been sent to Kanpur hospital in critical condition and nine others have been admitted to the local district hospital.
Shukla said that there were 35 passengers in the bus and other people with minor injuries have been discharged after first aid. He said that after the accident, the bus driver fled from the spot while the truck driver has been arrested.
Shukla said that the dead could not be identified immediately and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
According to the information, this accident happened near Jamaluddin village of Safipur Kotwali of Unnao. It is being told that at the time of the collision, its sound was heard far and wide. The collision was so severe that the bus was blown to pieces. At present the passengers have been evacuated from the bus. After the collision between the bus and the truck, some vehicles traveling on the road stopped. He along with the policemen rescued the passengers trapped inside the bus.
It is being told that 6 passengers sitting inside the bus have died on the spot, while more than 15 are said to be seriously injured. This accident happened on Unnao-Hardoi road. At present, the police have recovered the bodies of the deceased and they are being sent for post-mortem.
