In Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, an inspector’s negligence in complying with a court order proved costly. Advocate Jagat Singh stated that the court issued a written order requiring the inspector to undergo six months of training. Furthermore, the CO City has been tasked with overseeing the training and has requested a report on the order’s implementation within five days.
In fact, in Badaun, the court had ordered a case to be filed against the plaintiff and the BJP Mandal President. Instead of filing a case, the investigating officer simply added sections to the already filed case. The court expressed displeasure over this and termed it negligence on the part of the investigating officer. Furthermore, the court ordered the inspector to undergo six months of training.
Inspector Reprimanded
Mayank Saxena, a resident of Mohalla Adarsh Nagar in the Civil Lines police station area, was involved in a fight with local residents on the night of October 21st. BJP Mandal President Gopal Sharma, who tried to intervene, was also assaulted. On the second day, following political interference in Mayank’s complaint, the police filed a case against Aditya Yadav, Harshit, and Rishabh under sections of attempted murder and robbery. The police arrested all three accused, presented them in court, and sent them to jail.
In this case, the plaintiffs, Mayank and Gopal, submitted affidavits to the court stating that the accused had not committed the crime against them. Following this, the court ordered the Civil Lines police station to register an FIR against Mayank and Gopal. The case was being investigated by Vijay Bahadur Singh, the Crime Inspector posted at the Civil Lines police station, who, in response to the case, increased the charges in the case. Meanwhile, the court granted conditional bail to all three accused.
The court sent the inspector for training.
In the case, Special Judge of the Additional Sessions Court, Ms. Rinku, made strong comments on the conduct of the investigating officer, stating that despite being an inspector-level officer, the investigating officer disobeyed court orders. There was gross indifference to the legal process, and even after three days of the order, it was not implemented. The court ordered the SSP to provide six months of training to Inspector Vijay Bahadur.
