Meerut: A major theft took place in Defence Enclave, a colony of billionaires in Meerut. The Nepali servant of a sports businessman, along with his accomplices, carried out the theft in his house. Jewellery worth more than 50 lakhs and cash worth more than 50 thousand were stolen. This theft has created a sensation in the colony.
The case is of Defence Colony of Ganganagar police station area of Meerut. Himco International owner Anil Kumar Mahajan lives here with his family. His Himco International company is located in the Sports Complex on Delhi Road. Anil Mahajan had gone to Delhi with his wife to see a sick relative, while son Arpan had gone to the factory and daughter Abhina had gone to her grandmother’s house.
Servant’s act captured in CCTV
The Nepali servant Samrat alias Milan Bahadur was at home. As soon as the family left, Samrat called his accomplice through messenger call and broke the cupboards of the house and stole the jewellery and cash. When Anil Mahajan returned home at night, he saw that all the things were scattered and the jewellery boxes were also empty and when he called Samrat, he was also not found. Police was informed and police reached the spot.
When Ganganagar police reached the spot after getting information about the theft, it was clear that the Nepali servant of the house, Samrat, had committed this crime. When CCTV cameras were scanned, Samrat and his companion were seen carrying bags, which clearly shows that the servant Samrat had already made a plan and as soon as the members of the house went out, he committed the crime and took away jewellery and cash worth more than 50 lakhs.
Team left for Nepal, photo also sent to the border
In Meerut’s Defence Colony, sports businessman Anil Mahajan had hired Nepali servant Samrat alias Milan Bahadur on 27 April. No one could understand Samrat’s intentions. He kept on recceing the whole house. He saw where the cupboards were and which room in the whole house was attached to which place. He was just waiting for all the members of the house to go out and he would succeed in his purpose. His plans were fulfilled in just one and a quarter months, because he would have never thought even in his dreams that he would get hold of jewellery worth 50 lakhs.
The case is related to a big businessman, so the police did not delay. A team has been sent to Nepal, while Samrat’s photo has also been sent to the Nepal border.
