UP: Police seized liquor worth Rs 12 lakh in Ghazipur and arrested 11 smugglers, the smugglers were taking the liquor to Bihar

In Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, the police have arrested 11 liquor smugglers in two separate cases. These people were taking a large consignment of liquor to Bihar. Liquor is banned in Bihar, smugglers supply liquor illegally there and sell it at high prices. This time also they had the same intention. But the police foiled the plan of the liquor smugglers. Police has seized liquor worth 12 lakhs.

The case is of Bhanwarkol and Karimuddinpur area near the border of Bihar. Here Bhanwarkol police recovered English liquor worth about 6 lakh rupees along with two smugglers in a truck. While Karimuddinpur police arrested nine people with liquor worth about 6 lakh rupees in three vehicles.

Where Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary was being celebrated on 2 October in the whole country. On this day, the sale of liquor is completely banned. Despite this, the liquor smugglers were busy doing their work. Meanwhile, Karimuddinpur police and excise team got information that preparations were being made to transport liquor in three vehicles to Bihar in Joga Musahib village. When the excise team and police department raided the place based on the information, a total of 82 boxes of liquor were recovered from here. A total of 712 liters of liquor was recovered. Its estimated price is being told to be around 6 lakh rupees.

Liquor was to be sold at a high price

All this liquor was to be taken to Bihar province and sold at high prices. In this case, the police have started action by taking Amarnath Rai, Saddam, Aditya, Manish, Durgesh, Sameer, Amit Rai alias Golden Rai, Sunny Singh and Jaikumar Singh into custody.

At the same time, during vehicle checking in Bhanwarkol, adjacent to the border of Bihar, the police seized liquor worth Rs 6 lakh from a truck. The informer had informed them about this. Liquor smugglers Rajesh Kumar Rai and Chotak alias Tukdu were arrested.

What did SP Rural say?

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), Atul Kumar Sonkar said that a huge amount of liquor has been seized from 11 smugglers in both the police station areas and along with sending these people to jail through legal action, their other networks are also being busted.
