Amethi: 9 children got serious burns due to electric shock during the procession in Sangrampur area of the district. Of these, the condition of only one child remains critical, who has been admitted to the Trauma Center in Lucknow in a critical condition. After this incident, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for each child posting on X.
Procession taken out from Shiva temple
Giving information about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Lallan Singh said that there was a program of Bhandara in the Shiva temple in Durai Ka Purva village of Sangrampur police station area. During this time a procession was also taken out. He told that during the procession, the DJ system touched the electric wire passing above, due to which he got electrocuted. Nine children participating in the procession got burnt due to electric shock.
All children between 9-15 years of age
Additional Superintendent of Police Lallan Singh said that all the injured children were admitted to the district hospital of Gauriganj. Of these, Nandan Singh (15) was sent to the Trauma Center in Lucknow due to his critical condition. He told that the remaining eight children are being treated in the district hospital. The age of all the children is between 09 to 15 years.
Akhilesh Yadav demanded compensation
Samajwadi Party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav has made a post regarding this matter on the social media platform ‘X’. In his post, he has written that, “The children who got electrocuted in the accident that took place during the procession in Amethi today, should be immediately provided better medical care and a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each should be announced immediately.” That yesterday on 22nd January, the celebration of Ramlala’s life consecration was seen across the country. In the same sequence, a procession and Bhandara were also organized in Amethi.
