UPPSC: In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, students protested to cancel and re-conduct the RO-ARO recruitment examination, the police even tried to convince the students, but the students stood firm on their demands.

Prayagraj: Students in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh are agitating to cancel the RO-ARO recruitment examination and conduct it again. Students are agitating regarding rigging and paper leak issue in RO-ARO recruitment examination. The agitating students are standing outside the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The police also tried to convince these students, but the students are firm on their demands.

Students alleging paper leak
Let us tell you that the written examination of RO-ARO was held on 11th February. About 6.5 lakh students from the entire state had appeared in this examination. News of paper leak started coming in on the day of the exam itself. After this, the candidates started protesting outside the office of Public Service Commission demanding cancellation of the examination and re-conducting it. The protests that have been going on since February 11 have now intensified, after which the police have converted the Commission office into a cantonment.

The protest turned violent on Friday
The students protesting outside the Commission’s office are demanding that the examination be conducted afresh. Following the allegations of paper leak, the Commission has recommended investigation by STF and has also formed an internal committee. Although the report of the committee has not come yet, the protests of the students are becoming more intense. The students’ demonstration turned violent on Friday. In view of the large number of candidates arriving outside the Commission, police and RAF personnel from several police stations were deployed.
