US President Donald Trump has once again claimed to have stopped wars between several countries, including India and Pakistan, citing his tariff policy as the reason. The US President said that tariffs are the guardians of peace.
India and Pakistan were ready for war – Trump
Regarding the question of changing his stance on tariffs, US President Donald Trump said, “If I didn’t have the authority to impose tariffs, at least four out of seven wars would have broken out… If you look at India and Pakistan, they were ready for it. Seven planes were shot down… I don’t want to say exactly what I said, but what I said was very effective. We not only earned hundreds of billions of dollars, but because of tariffs, we are also the guardians of peace.”
Trump reiterated this point about the UN.
Donald Trump has claimed to have ended seven wars in the first seven months of his second term. In a speech to the United Nations General Assembly in September, he said, “I ended seven wars that had been going on for decades.” Trump also mentioned being eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize.
