A marriage broke down in Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh because the groom could not count the notes. The people of the groom’s side tried to convince the bride a lot. But the bride flatly refused to marry. Then the wedding procession returned without marriage. Both the parties returned the goods taken from each other.
Ram Bahadur of Rampur Bampur village had fixed his daughter’s marriage in Bharthana, Etawah. When the procession arrived from Bharthana, everyone was welcomed with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, during the garland ceremony, the girl got suspicious. She gave the boy 20-20 rupee notes to count, but the boy could not count the notes. On this the girl refused to marry.
The boy was not educated
The girl’s family also did not know that the boy was not educated. When they came to know this, they were also surprised. The decision taken by the girl was appreciated by the family and relatives. After this, a decision was taken with mutual consent between the girl and the boy’s side. Whatever things both the parties had given to each other, they returned them. The baraat returned without the bride.
The boy’s brother said that when the notes were given to the boy to count, he could not count them. When he did not know what a 20 rupee note is, how could we marry our sister. The girl said that the boy was not educated. How could we spend our life with a boy who did not even know what a note looks like. We came to know about it in time, otherwise we would have had to face a lot of problems after the marriage.
After the girl refused to marry, all the baraatis including the groom looked disappointed. They said that when the baraat had come, this marriage should happen. This matter was blown out of proportion unnecessarily.
