A panic erupted in Firozabad district, Uttar Pradesh, when a young man reported a false bomb blast. Police officers were left stunned. A hasty checkup was launched at several locations. Under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit, a campaign was launched against criminals and those spreading false information. As part of this campaign, the South Police Station arrested a young man who had caused a stir within the police administration by reporting a false bomb blast.
According to information, the South Police Station team arrested the accused, Akash Faujdar, son of Virendra Faujdar, a resident of Suhagnagar, near Suhagnagar intersection. Investigation revealed that the accused had called 112 a few days after the Delhi bombing, falsely reporting a bomb blast six hours later. After making the announcement, he switched off his mobile phone and fled.
How the police reached the accused
With the help of the Cyber Cell’s technical assistance, the police traced the call details and apprehended the accused through surveillance. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections at the South Police Station. The accused called the police and said, “Hello, I am speaking from Lashkar-e-Taiba.” He claimed he would detonate a bomb within six hours.
What did the SP say?
City SP Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that the accused has been arrested. The accused’s name is Akash Faujdar, and his father’s name is Virendra Faujdar, a resident of Suhag Nagar, South Police Station. On the 10th, at 10:30 pm, he called Dial 112 and made a misleading and objectionable call. He claimed to be a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba and threatened to detonate a bomb. Based on this information, a team was formed to arrest the accused and send him to jail.
