Uttar Pradesh: Electricity department wrote a letter to dismiss a contract worker from job for waving Palestine flag on Eid day in Saharanpur

Orders have been issued to dismiss a contract worker of the electricity department who waved the flag of Palestine during Eid prayers in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The officials of the electricity department have written a letter to the company in which the contract worker was working and asked to dismiss the contract worker named Saqib from the job for the work he has done.

Contract worker Saqib Khan was appointed in Kailashpur power house of Saharanpur. Saqib waved the flag of Palestine on the day of Eid and posted a photo of waving the flag on Facebook. Regarding this, the electricity department has ordered his dismissal.

Superintending Engineer of Electricity Department Shishir Kumar Chahi said that Saqib was working on Chhutmalpur feeder of Kailashpur. When this matter came to light and was investigated, it was considered an anti-national activity. The department took immediate action and wrote a letter to the concerned contract company to remove him from service.

Dismissal of the employee

It is written in the letter that Saqib should be dismissed from the job and informed soon. The matter escalated as soon as the post went viral on social media after Eid, on which the department took a strict stand and ordered dismissal with immediate effect. On the day of Eid, many people inside the city also waved the flag of Palestine and raised slogans. In that case, the police has so far arrested 8 people and sent them to jail and the police is still searching for other people on the basis of the viral video.

In the viral post, the youth is seen holding the flag of Palestine. Two children are also seen standing with him. Looking at the photo, it seems that this photo was probably clicked outside a Muslim religious place.
