Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has advised young women to stay away from live-in relationships, saying they should avoid relationships that can lead to exploitation.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel on Wednesday expressed concern over the rising cases of violence against women. She advised women to be cautious in their personal and social lives. Patel urged young women to stay away from live-in relationships, as such relationships could make them vulnerable to exploitation.

Patel made these remarks while addressing the 47th convocation of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth in Varanasi. During this, she also distributed degrees and gold medals to the students.

Stay Away from Live-In Relationships
Patel said in a statement, “Daughters should think carefully before making any decisions and stay away from relationships like live-in relationships, which can lead to exploitation.” She advised students to be cautious in their personal lives. She also urged them to make wise decisions and be wary of people who could abuse their trust.

The purpose of education is not just to obtain a degree
In her speech to the students, Patel said that the purpose of education is not just to obtain a degree. He said, “Education is a means to change lives, not just a means to obtain certificates.” Patel appealed to students to maintain a sense of discipline, duty, and patriotism in their lives.

Further, Patel advised students to take care of their hostels and universities, participate in cleanliness drives for at least one hour every week, and actively contribute to improving the environment around them.

Emphasis on Third Gender Education
Patel also emphasized the education of third genders. He praised the university’s efforts in this regard. Patel announced that an agreement would soon be signed with Taiwan to enhance educational cooperation.

Regarding environmental protection, the Governor said that natural disasters are increasing due to human interference with the environment. He said, “We ourselves have damaged the environment, and it is our responsibility to restore it.”
