A tragic accident took place in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday evening. Here a car broke the railing of the barrage built on the Ramganga river and fell down. The depth of the river at the place where this accident happened is about 35 feet. In this accident, four people died on the spot. It was fortunate that the people present on the spot saved one person in the car alive. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and pulled the car out of the river with the help of a crane.
The bodies of all the deceased have been taken to the hospital. The incident took place late Tuesday evening in Harewali area of Sherkot police station area. At the time of the incident, the people in the car were crossing the barrage bridge built on the Ramganga river. It is being told that there was a lot of fog at that time. In such a situation, as soon as his car reached near gate number 20, the driver suddenly lost control. Before the people in the car could understand anything, their car broke the railing and fell into the river.
One youth survived, four died
The people present at the spot, seeing the incident, immediately informed the police. People also tried to save the car riders by immediately jumping into the river. However, with great difficulty one person could be taken out. The remaining four people remained trapped inside the vehicle and died due to drowning in the river. By around 9 o’clock in Ram, the police took out the bodies of all the dead including the vehicle and sent them for post-mortem. With this, the deceased have been identified and their families have been informed.
Five people had gone to see the exhibition
Post mortem will be conducted this afternoon. According to the police, the two passengers in the car are Sikandar (20) and Mahroof (28), son of village head Rauf Ahmed of Noorpur Chhibri. Both of them had gone to Afzalgarh on Tuesday evening to see the exhibition. Along with them were three youths from the same village, Khurshid (38), Abdul Rashid (23) and Faisal (22). Sikandar has been saved in this accident.
Bought the car 15 days ago
The remaining four people have died. According to the police, village head Rauf Ahmed had bought a new car 15 days ago. This accident happened while returning from the exhibition. CO Archana Singh and Kotwal Dheeraj Singh told that Sikandar has been rescued and admitted to the hospital. The vehicle was also taken out of the river with the help of JCB and crane.
