A case of Sabarmati Express derailment has come to light between Kanpur and Bhimsen railway stations in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Indian Railways, 22 coaches of train number 19168, Sabarmati Express derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur and Bhimsen section at around 2:30 am on Friday night. There is no news of anyone being injured in the accident. Railway officials have reached the spot. Buses have been sent from Kanpur to carry the passengers.
There was a stir when Sabarmati Express derailed on the holding line ahead of Govindpuri. 22 coaches of the train have derailed. These include seven AC coaches, eight sleeper coaches and the rest general coaches. Sabarmati Express was going from Varanasi to Ahmedabad. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident. Railway officials have reached the spot. The accident is being investigated.
Passengers were sleeping, there was screaming
Most of the passengers were sleeping at the time of the accident. When the coaches of Sabarmati Express derailed at around 2:30 in the night, the passengers lost their sleep. There was screaming and shouting among them. Amidst the chaos, the passengers came out of the coaches. As soon as the railways came to know about the accident, there was a stir among the officials. Buses were called from Kanpur to take all the passengers on the train. Arrangements are being made to send them to some other station through buses and take them to their destination.

The news of relief is that no passenger was injured in the accident. Senior officials of police and fire department also reached the spot. Relief and rescue work is being done. Railway officials say that only Jhansi route has been disrupted after the accident. Work is going on at the accident site to make it smooth. Statement of Railway Minister
Regarding the train accident in Kanpur, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on social media platform X that the engine of Sabarmati Express (Varanasi to Ahmedabad) derailed after hitting an object placed on the track near Kanpur at 02:35 late night. Signs of strong shock have been seen in the train. IB and UP Police are working on it. There were no injuries to the passengers or railway employees on board the train. Train arrangements have been made for the passengers for further journey to Ahmedabad.
