Villagers have protested fiercely to get the railway halt in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, the status of a station. During this, the villagers have tried to stop the train by jumping in front of the moving train. At the same time, the villagers stopped the Krishak Express going from Lucknow to Varanasi for about an hour. As soon as the incident of stopping the train came to light, there was a stir in the railway department. The master of the nearest railway station, who reached the protest site, talked to senior officials over the phone and assured the people of positive action and ended the protest.
Ambedkar Azad Party workers along with the villagers staged a protest to get the Mahpur Halt of Ghazipur the status of a railway station again. The protesters have demanded that express trains along with passenger trains should stop at Mahpur Halt as before. After the train was stopped by the protesters, Audhihar Railway Station Master RR Patel, who reached the spot, talked to the DRM over the phone and assured the people and ended the protest after about three hours.
Protesters got angry on hearing the horn
While talking to the protesters, the railway administration tried to get the train out, but as soon as the train blew the horn, the villagers got angry and then all of them ran and stood in front of the train. The speed of the train was slow so the driver immediately applied the brakes otherwise a big accident could have happened. At the same time, National President of Ambedkar Azad Party Rohit Kumar Badal has made serious allegations against the police of pushing and tearing clothes.
People have been demanding station status for 1 year
Rohit has challenged that if his demand is not met, he will again go on a hunger strike. The police administration has said that legal action will be taken against the protesters for stopping the train in an unconstitutional manner. The protesters have been demanding to give Mahpur Halt the status of a railway station for the last one year. In this regard, the protesters have also submitted demand letters to the railway officials several times, but the department did not take any action.

The protesters have warned that if their demand is not met, they will protest on a large scale.
