Nainital: An FIR has been registered against BJP leader and administrator of Nainital-based Uttarakhand Cooperative Milk Federation Limited Mukesh Bora and his driver for allegedly raping a widow on the pretext of giving her a job. Giving information about this on Monday, the police said that on the basis of the woman’s complaint, a case of rape and threatening has been registered against Bora and his driver Kamal Belwal. Meanwhile, BJP leader Bora has been removed from his post.
‘Bora had threatened to face serious consequences’
Nainital SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena said, ‘A woman had lodged a complaint against a person named Mukesh Bora in Lalkuan police station. On the basis of her complaint, an FIR has been registered and investigation of the case has been started. Further action will be taken after the facts come to light. In her complaint, the victim has said that during the last 3 years, Bora forcibly had physical relations with her several times and threatened her that if she objected to this or told anyone about it, she would have to face serious consequences.
‘Raped on the pretext of making permanent employee’
The complaint states that Bora’s driver also allegedly raped the widow and threatened her. According to the complaint given by the woman, when she reached Lalkuan in 2021 after the death of her husband, Bora got her a job on daily wages through outsourcing in a cooperative institution. According to the woman, after a few days, Bora called her to his hotel room on the pretext of making her a permanent employee and forcibly had physical relations with her.
‘Threatened to kill the woman and children’
According to the woman’s complaint, Bora threatened her that if she told anyone about this, she would have to lose her job. Bora kept exploiting the woman by threatening to post her photos and videos on social media. The woman also alleged that Bora forced her to have physical relations with his friends and when she refused to do so, he threatened to kill her and her children.
CO of Lalkuan recorded the statement of the victim
In the complaint filed by the woman, it is said that the driver of the accused also threatened to kill her. Lalkuan Police Circle Officer Sangeeta recorded the statement of the victim and registered a case against Bora and Belwal. Meena said that action will be taken on the basis of facts emerging in the investigation.
