In a mahapanchayat held here on Sunday amid the strictness of the Uttarakhand High Court, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Goshamahal in Telangana T. Raja asked Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to teach a lesson to land jihadis like his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath.
Addressing a mahapanchayat organized by Hinduist organization Devbhoomi Vichar Manch at Ramlila Maidan against a mosque here, Raja said that he has come here from Hyderabad to tell Chief Minister Dhami to discuss tea with Yogi Adityanath. He said that the way Yogi ji teaches a lesson to land jihadis in Uttar Pradesh, you (Dhami) also need to buy some bulldozers in Uttarakhand.
Controversy over mosque
The Uttarakhand High Court, while hearing a petition filed in the wake of the ongoing dispute over the mosque, on Wednesday asked the Uttarkashi district administration to maintain law and order in the city. The petition also requested not to allow the mahapanchayat, to which the state government told the court that it has not been allowed. But the district administration had given conditional permission to the Mahapanchayat on Friday.
Support of one crore Hindus
Raja claimed to have the support of one crore Hindus of the state and said that CM Dhami should understand their feelings. He said that they (Hindus) want a land jihad free Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is heaven but the conspiracy to make it hell is being done by land jihadis, CM Dhami needs to be careful and teach them all a lesson.
Land jihadis have to be driven away
Raja told the people present in the Mahapanchayat that the political parties who come to ask for votes from them should make them realize that to win the elections they will have to drive away the land jihadis from there. He told the youth that this is not only an issue of Uttarkashi but of the whole of Uttarakhand and everyone needs to unite to avoid land jihad and love jihad.
Mosques being built illegally
Raja said that you should make the one crore Hindus here understand that we are one and whoever kills and drives away 25 lakh Rohingya and Bangladeshi intruders will get our blessings. He said that the mosques being built illegally need to be stopped. The BJP MLA said that this battle will also be fought legally.
Uttarkashi will be made a religious city
BJP MLA from Gangotri Suresh Chauhan and Hindu leader Swami Darshan Bharti also attended the Maha Panchayat held under tight security. Chauhan said that the Dhami government of the state has taken strict steps against land jihad and love jihad and this will continue in future as well. He also said that Uttarkashi will be made a religious city and meat-fish and liquor shops will be removed from here.
Mosque built on government land
In the Maha Panchayat, a demand was raised for an investigation against love jihad, land jihad, illegal encroachment and people coming from outside states. This mosque of the Sunni community was built decades ago. However, Hindu organizations claim that the mosque is illegally built on government land. Earlier, in October, Hindu organizations had also taken out a rally demanding the demolition of the mosque.
After the police stopped the rally from going on Bhatwadi Marg, the protesters allegedly pelted stones and during this the police had to do mild lathicharge. 27 people including seven policemen were injured in the violent clash between the police and the protesters.
Threat to demolish the mosque
In view of the ongoing controversy over the mosque, the Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday ordered the Uttarkashi district administration to maintain law and order in the city and keep the court informed about the situation in this regard. The High Court gave these orders to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Uttarkashi during the hearing of a petition filed by Uttarkashi organization Minority Seva Samiti regarding the security of the mosque, which alleged that some organizations were threatening to demolish the mosque by calling it ‘illegal’.
The petitioner had also prayed to the court that the proposed Mahapanchayat against the mosque on Sunday should not be allowed. In response to this, Deputy Advocate General JS Virk, who appeared in the court on behalf of the state government, informed the bench that the district administration has not given permission to the proposed Mahapanchayat.
Permission to Hindu organizations to hold Mahapanchayat
He also told the court that patrolling is being done day and night to maintain law and order in the city and the situation in the city is normal. The court has fixed December 5 as the next date for hearing the case. On Friday, the district administration had given permission to Hindu organizations to hold Mahapanchayat with 15 conditions, which included conditions like not giving hate speeches, not taking out rallies, not obstructing traffic, not inciting religious sentiments and maintaining peace and order.
