Saddened by the atrocities and attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, Muslims prayed for them, sought blessings and offered chadar. Led by Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams, people from the Muslim community on Monday offered ‘chadar’ at Piran Kaliyar Sharif, praying for an end to the alleged atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Shams said, “People of Bangladesh are facing religious hatred, temples are being demolished, sisters and daughters are unsafe, democracy has been murdered there.”
God is watching everything, our prayers will not go in vain
Shadab Shams said, the Quran says Innallah Ma’asahirin, which means that God is with the oppressed and against the oppressors. Shams said, “Do not oppress the oppressed, the oppressed will cry and if God hears their call, he will destroy you.” He said that God will definitely hear their prayers and protect the Hindus in Bangladesh. Our prayers will not go in vain. He said that what is happening in Bangladesh is a nefarious conspiracy of ISI and Jamaat-e-Islami.
Meeting between India and Bangladesh
India raised the issue of ‘regrettable incidents’ of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh during the Foreign Secretary level meeting on Monday, but Bangladesh termed it as ‘misleading and incorrect information’ and said that no country should interfere in its internal affairs. India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Mohammad Jashimuddin held a meeting on Monday.
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri told reporters that he conveyed India’s concerns, including the safety and welfare of minorities, during a meeting with his counterpart Mohammad Jashimuddin. He said, “We also discussed some regrettable incidents of attacks on cultural, religious and diplomatic properties. Overall, we expect a constructive approach on all these issues by the Bangladesh authorities. We are eager to take the relationship forward in a positive, visionary and constructive direction.”
