Referring to various initiatives taken in his state, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday said that the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be implemented in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand this month. He said here that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to have a Uniform Civil Code law.

On which date will UCC be implemented?

Earlier it was believed that the Dhami government would implement the UCC in the state from January 1, 2025. However, due to the notification issued regarding the civic elections, the government cannot take any decision till January 23. In this situation, it is believed that the Dhami government of Uttarakhand can announce the implementation of UCC from January 26, 2025.

Constantly increasing number of tourists

CM Dhami has said that the arrival of devotees and tourists is continuously increasing in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said, we will build Ganga corridor in Haridwar and Rishikesh. A corridor is also being built on the Sharda river, a lot of work has started on it. Dhami, who arrived to inaugurate the 29th Uttarayan Mela held here, said that a lot of development work is going on in Uttarakhand. He said that reconstruction is going on at Baba Kedarnath. By-elections were held there and BJP won there. Work is being done with a master plan in Badrinath Dham. The work of beautification and reconstruction of all the temples in the Kumaon region is going on continuously.

Uttarakhand is being developed as a ‘destination wedding’

He said that more devotees go to Purnagiri from Uttar Pradesh. I feel very happy. Now we will build Sharda Corridor there, due to which there will be beautiful ghats and beautification will be done. Uttarakhand is being developed as a ‘destination wedding’ and tourism, so that people will do marriage and other programs in Devbhoomi instead of abroad. ”

Referring to various legal reforms regarding governance and security, the Chief Minister said, we made an anti-conversion law. We made a strict anti-riot law. Along with this, we also made an anti-copying law. He said that the government has made a law on land jihad and 5000 acres of land has been freed from encroachment. He informed that the 28th National Games are going to start in Uttarakhand from 28 January which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Its closing ceremony will be held in Haldwani.
