Actually, the report of the ASI survey conducted in Gyanvapi Mosque has been handed over to the Hindu and Muslim sides on Thursday night. ASI has mentioned in its 839-page survey report that the temple was demolished in the 17th century on the orders of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. ASI has given the exact date in its survey report as to when the temple was demolished? ASI told in the survey report that on 18 April 1669, Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb issues an order to demolish the temple. About 5 months after issuing the decree, the temple is demolished on 2 September 1669.

Names of Hindu incarnations found on inscriptions
ASI has stated in its survey report that the pillars of the mosque resemble those of a Hindu temple. Inscriptions written in Devanagari, Kannada and Telugu have been found at 34 places. The names of Hindu incarnations Janardana, Rudra, Umeshwara have been found in these. The words Maha Mukti Mandap are also mentioned at one of these places. This shows that the debris of the temple itself was used to build the mosque. ASI has even told in its survey report that during the survey, a stone was also found, in which it is written that Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb had said that the temple should be demolished. The pillars of the temple were used to build the mosque.

The temple was demolished in the 17th century
During the survey, another stone was found, it was half broken. He was also in the records of ASI around 1956. The words written on it were erased. Hindu side’s advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said that ASI has stated in its survey report that after seeing the artefacts of the sculptures made on the western wall of the mosque, it clearly seems that this is not a mosque but is a part of a Hindu temple. The mosque was constructed by demolishing the Hindu temple in the 17th century. Vishnu Shankar Jain said that the ASI told that the pillars built in the Gyanvapi Mosque and the plaster on the walls were part of the already existing structure. Parts of the temple, including plaster and pillars, were reused to rebuild the present structure. The main entrance of the temple was from the west side. There was also a large central chamber in the temple. The remains of the north, south and west chambers still exist. ASI said that the existing structure was used only. ASI has also found a wide well in GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar).​

Vishnu Jain told that the ASI team had ascertained the period of the artefacts and statues found in the Gyanvapi Masjid complex through its high-tech instruments. Temple architects have come forward at various points in the survey. Evidence related to Sanatan Dharma has also been found in the basements of the mosque. Many artefacts related to Hindu religion have been found on the pillars inside the basement. It has been told in the survey report that the pillars of the mosque look like those of a Hindu temple.
