Vladimir Putin Talk With Donald Trump: Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with newly elected US President Donald Trump on Thursday (December 19). During this, he talked about reaching a settlement on the Ukraine war. He stressed that there are no preconditions for discussions but any deal should include legitimate Ukrainian authorities.

According to a Reuters report, Putin said Russia is ready to negotiate with anyone, including President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin told a reporter from an American news channel that he has not spoken with Trump for years but is ready to meet him to discuss the conflict.

What did Putin say on the temporary ceasefire?

Putin rejected claims that Russia was in a weak position. He said the country has become stronger since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. While Putin said Russia was ready to negotiate, he stressed that Kiev should also be ready for a compromise. Putin ruled out any possibility of a temporary ceasefire in favor of a permanent peace deal.

Also talked about the Oreshnik hypersonic missile
Putin, while responding to journalists, also talked about the Oreshnik hypersonic missile, which Russia has already used on a Ukrainian military factory. He said that he is ready to organize another launch in Ukraine and see if Western air defense systems can shoot it down. However, at that time Ukrainian President Zelensky discussed Putin’s use of the missile during a press conference at the European Council meeting in Brussels and said, “Do you think he is a sane person?”
