A low-pressure area over Saurashtra and Kutch remained active on Tuesday. This system is expected to move northwestward and intensify into a depression in the next 12 hours. This could bring heavy rainfall and winds of up to 40-60 kmph along the Gujarat coast and Kutch until October 3rd. High waves will form in the sea, so fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
Relief from the heat in Delhi-NCR
The humid heat has troubled people in Delhi-NCR for the past week. But now, a change in the weather is expected. According to the IMD, light to moderate rain is expected from September 30th to October 3rd. During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to be 34-36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 24-26 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh, the heat and humidity have made life miserable for people. Kanpur and Unnao have been experiencing heavy rain since morning, while Lucknow witnessed light drizzle. The IMD has issued a thunderstorm alert for districts in western Uttar Pradesh, such as Meerut, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, and Saharanpur, on September 30 and October 1. Rain is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh on October 4-5.
Rain expected after the heat in Bihar
Heat is also troubling people in Bihar. There will be no relief from the heat for the next two days, but light to moderate rain is possible on October 2-3. There is a strong possibility of heavy rain on October 3-5. Himachal Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain from October 4-6. Thunderstorm activity will also be observed in some areas. This year’s monsoon has wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand. Thunderstorms are expected on September 30, while more rain is expected on October 5-6. The IMD has strictly warned fishermen not to venture into the sea off the Gujarat coast, the Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian Sea from September 30 to October 5. High waves and strong winds can be dangerous.
