Weather Forecast: The weather will remain dry amid strong winds in North India, but heat is being felt in February itself. Due to sea winds rising from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the temperature has dropped by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in many parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat. At the same time, an alert has been issued for heavy rain and snowfall in the northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal and Sikkim due to cyclonic circulation. Similar conditions prevail in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, due to which cold day is being felt even during the day.
According to the Meteorological Department, the western disturbance may become active in North India by February 18, due to which a change in the weather will be seen. The speed of westerly winds can be from 20 to 30 kilometers per hour. Apart from this, after Sunday (February 16), another western disturbance will be active in the mountains, due to which there is a possibility of snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. At the same time, there is also a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha.
Weather condition in Delhi
Delhi remained sunny throughout the day on Friday and the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.5 degrees Celsius below normal. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius on Saturday (February 15). According to the Meteorological Department, there is no forecast of rain in the capital at present, but the effect of western disturbance can be seen after February 18, due to which there may be partly cloudy sky.
How will the weather be in UP, Bihar and Rajasthan?
Winds are blowing at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour in Uttar Pradesh, due to which a slight increase in day and night temperatures is being seen. Light rain is expected in UP on February 19. The weather remains dry in Bihar due to westerly winds, while the minimum temperature has been recorded around 12 to 13 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Rajasthan has increased by 2 to 5 degrees, in which the maximum temperature of Barmer was recorded at 33.5 degrees Celsius. There may be light rain in western and northern Rajasthan between 17 and 20 February.
Alert for farmers of Haryana-Punjab
Farmers have been advised to remain alert due to strong winds in Haryana and Punjab. Experts have advised to stop irrigation of wheat crop for the time being as the water can dry up quickly due to the winds. A new western disturbance will be active from February 18, due to which there will be a possibility of cloud cover and rain.
Snowfall alert in Jammu and Kashmir
The effect of cold wave continues in Jammu and Kashmir. An alert has been issued for snowfall and heavy rain in the valley. Due to the effect of western disturbance till February 20, most parts of the state will remain cloudy and the temperature will be recorded in minus. The temperature is likely to be minus 5 degrees in Pahalgam, minus 4 degrees in Srinagar and minus 4 degrees Celsius in Kupwara. According to meteorologists, the effect of heat will be more this year, due to which the temperature may increase rapidly in March.
