West Bengal: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed displeasure over the poor performance of the INDIA block in Haryana-Maharashtra and by-elections and said, ‘I formed the INDIA alliance, give me a chance, I am ready to lead from Bengal itself.’

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed displeasure over the poor performance of the INDIA block in Haryana-Maharashtra and by-elections. She said in an interview, ‘I formed the INDIA alliance. If those leading it cannot run it properly, then give me a chance. I am ready to lead the alliance from Bengal itself.’

Mamata Banerjee’s statement has been supported by Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut and Samajwadi Party (SP). Raut said on Saturday, ‘We also want them to be the major partners of the opposition INDIA alliance. Whether it is Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal or Shiv Sena, we are all together. We will soon go to Kolkata to talk to Mamata Banerjee.’

At the same time, SP leader Udayveer Singh also supported Mamata Banerjee’s statement. He said on Saturday, ‘In the Lok Sabha elections, SP won 37 out of 80 seats in UP. In West Bengal, TMC won 29 out of 42 seats. BJP lost 35 seats in these two states. If all parties agree, SP will support Mamta.’

On Mamta’s statement regarding leadership in the INDIA alliance, BJP said- Opposition leaders do not trust the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. They still consider Rahul a novice in politics. There are many people in the opposition who consider Rahul a political failure.

Elections are not won through strategists
On the question of taking the help of election strategist Prashant Kishore, Mamata said- some strategists do surveys sitting at home and later change the survey. They can plan things, organize them, but cannot bring voters to the booth.

Only booth workers know the villages and the people, these people win elections. Election strategists are just artists, who do their work in exchange for money, but elections are not won through them.
Mamata said- the party will decide my successor

Mamata was asked about her successor in the party.

In response to this, she said- TMC is a disciplined party. No leader here can set his terms. The party will decide what is best for the people. We have MLAs, MPs, booth workers, who will decide who will take over the party after me.

The situation of differences between the leaders close to Mamata Banerjee and the leaders close to her nephew Abhishek Banerjee has been seen in TMC for a long time. Regarding this, Mamata said- everyone is important for the party. Today’s new face will be tomorrow’s experienced one.
