West Bengal: ED raids TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan’s house in Sandeshkhali, more than 100 Central Force personnel deployed during the search.

The ED team has once again reached the house of the TMC leader who attacked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team in West Bengal. The team of the investigating agency has reached Sandeshkhali with full force at Sheikh Shahjahan’s house. It is being told that ED has broken the lock of his house. Sheikh Shahjahan is the main accused in the case of attacking the ED team.

Sheikh Shahjahan is absconding since last 19 days
Sheikh Shahjahan is absconding for the last 19 days. The ED team has reached Sheikh’s house with full force to raid. During the search, 125 Central Force personnel and 35 State Police personnel are deployed at the spot. Eight ED officers are searching Sheikh Shahjahan’s house. Let us tell you that a few days ago a lookout notice was issued against absconding Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh in the ration scam.

High Court had constituted SIT for investigation
A few days ago, the Calcutta High Court had ordered the formation of a SIT regarding the attack on ED officers. The Enforcement Directorate had requested for a CBI inquiry into the Sandeshkhali investigation. After the incident, ED had registered two FIRs and demanded a CBI investigation. The court had ordered the formation of SIT in both the cases.

Governor had asked questions to Mamata government
West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose had expressed displeasure over the non-arrest of TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh, accused of attacking ED officials. The Governor had asked questions to the Mamata government regarding Sheikh not being arrested. Bose asked why Sandeshkhali’s Trinamool leader Sheikh Shahjahan has not been arrested yet?

ED team was attacked at Shahjahan’s house
Let us tell you that to investigate the ration scam case, the ED team had come to raid the house of Shahjahan Sheikh. When the team reached there, Shahjahan was not found, but the central officials faced opposition in front of that house and were beaten up. After the incident, three ED officials were admitted to the hospital.
