West Bengal Police has summoned four Raj Bhavan officials in connection with the molestation allegations against the state’s Governor C V Anand Bose. This step has been taken by the police in connection with the investigation of the case. These four Raj Bhavan officials saw the woman coming out of the Governor’s office crying.
According to the PTI report, the police said that these four officials were present in the Raj Bhavan at the time of the alleged molestation incident. Therefore, they have been summoned for questioning by sending them a summons. The woman had named four officials while recording her statement before the magistrate under Section 164 of the Indian Penal Code.
The contract employee of Raj Bhavan had accused Bose of molestation on May 2, after which the Kolkata Police started the investigation. Earlier, a case was registered against three Raj Bhavan officials for wrongly stopping the woman.
The Governor has called the allegations absurd
Although the Governor has called the allegations against him absurd, the politics of Bengal has heated up due to the case. In the complaint given to the police, the victim has alleged that she was molested twice. The victim is repeatedly demanding action. The post of Governor has constitutional immunity due to which Bose will not have to face criminal charges while in office.
Raj Bhavan has also released CCTV footage
In the second week of this month, Governor CV Anand Bose decided to release the footage to the public. After the footage was released by Raj Bhavan, the Governor wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary and asked to immediately stop the investigation being conducted by the Kolkata Police. Now after summons were sent to four officials of Raj Bhavan, it has become clear that the police has not stopped investigating the case.
