Kolkata Rape Murder Case: Protests are taking place across the country over the rape and subsequent murder of a female trainee doctor in West Bengal. Meanwhile, on Wednesday (July 14, 2024), RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was vandalized, due to which the Federation of Resident Doctors Association India i.e. FORDA has announced a strike again. FORDA said that the central and state governments have failed to provide security.
FORDA said that in view of the violence in RG Kar Medical College, we stand with our colleagues and the medical community. Earlier on Tuesday (August 13, 2024), the Doctors Association had withdrawn the strike after a meeting with Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
FORDA issued a statement saying, “We are starting the strike again after the tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College and the government not fulfilling its promises on time.”
