West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has said that strictest action should be taken against Sheikh Shahjahan. He should get death sentence. The BJP leader said that Mamata Banerjee’s police will not arrest fugitive TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan because he controls the votes.
The official said that if Sheikh Shahjahan is arrested, TMC will lose the Basirhat seat. The BJP leader also said that the state government has imposed Section 144 in Sandeshkhali only to stop the BJP leaders. There should be a CBI and NIA investigation regarding the Sandeshkhali incident.

The BJP leader said that in PM Modi’s government, ED and other investigating agencies have freedom to work, hence the incident of Sandeshkhali is in front of the entire country.
