Howrah: A major accident has happened on Diwali in Howrah, West Bengal. Here a house caught fire while burning crackers. The fire engulfed the entire house in no time. During this, three children present in the house died due to burns in the fire. At the same time, a woman and a child are said to be injured. The accident happened in Uluberia area of Howrah, where a house caught fire while bursting crackers on Friday. The fire also engulfed a nearby shop. By the time the fire brigade reached the spot, three children were badly burnt, due to which they died.
Fire started due to spark of firecracker
Giving information about the incident, a police officer said that this incident happened in ward number 27 of Uluberia Municipality. During the incident, children of the same area were burning crackers. Meanwhile, a spark of a firecracker fell on some crackers kept nearby, which caused a fire. The fire spread very fast and engulfed a house as well. He said that three children were burnt in this fire. All three children were rushed to Uluberia Medical College and Hospital, where they were declared dead. He also said that the condition of two other people in the accident is critical, who are being treated.
Three children died
A fire brigade official said that after receiving the information, two fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot. After a lot of hard work, the fire was brought under control. He said that the three deceased have been identified as Tania Mistry, Ishan Dhara and Mumtaz Khatoon. The fire brigade official said that the house in which the fire broke out belonged to a woman named Kajal Sheikh. One of the three children who died was from his family, while the rest were neighbors.
