A case of rape-murder of a 9-year-old girl came to light on Friday in Kultali of Pargana district of West Bengal. Earlier in August, protests were seen across the country over the rape-murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Meanwhile, MP and actor Dev said that rapists and murderers should be shot at sight.
Trinamool Congress MP Dev said on Saturday that if the criminals are identified and proven guilty, then taxpayers’ money should not be wasted on them. They should be shot at sight. Dev described the country’s law as strong and said that despite this we are unable to save our mothers and daughters.
‘No one can even think’
He further said that those found guilty of such crimes should be given such a strict punishment that they cannot even think of committing any such crime in future. If the criminals do not have fear, then such crimes cannot be stopped. Dev has given this statement amid the rape-murder cases coming continuously in the country. He has said that such criminals should be shot at sight.
Junior doctor rape-murder case
There was a lot of controversy over the rape-murder case of a junior doctor in RG Kar Medical College, in which the doctors went on strike and took to the streets to get justice for the victim. The main accused in this case, Sanjay Roy, was arrested within 3-4 days of the case coming to light and the former principal was also expelled. The CBI is investigating this case.
