New Delhi: After wreaking havoc in the mountains of Uttarakhand, the Yamuna river is now in spate in the capital Delhi. The water level of the Yamuna reached 205.10 meters at 8 am on Friday, which is slightly below the danger mark of 205.33 meters at the old railway bridge. Officials gave this information.
Crossed the level of 204.50 meters
The water level was recorded at 204.88 meters a day earlier, which had crossed the warning level of 204.50 meters and since then the water level is rising. According to officials, the concerned agencies have been asked to take precautionary measures to deal with a flood-like situation and announcements are being made in the coastal areas regarding the rising water level of the river.
When will people be evacuated from the coastal areas?
The flood control bulletin of the East District Magistrate’s Office said, “At 8 am on Friday, the water flow at Hathnikund Barrage was recorded at 24,613 cusecs and at Wazirabad Barrage at 46,290 cusecs.” The warning level in Delhi is 204.5 meters, while the danger level is at 205.33 meters and the process of evacuating people begins when the water level reaches 206 meters. According to the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, about 12,000 people living in low-lying areas have been alerted and the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) is monitoring the situation.
Water released from Hathnikund Barrage

The water level of the river had reached an all-time high of 208.66 meters.
