Zakir Naik: Fugitive Islamic preacher Zakir Naik tried to provoke Indian Muslims over the Waqf Bill, said that Muslims should save Waqf properties and stop this bill, the current government is not powerful…

During the monsoon session of Parliament, the Modi government had brought the Waqf Amendment Bill, however, the government has now sent it to the JPC. The 31-member committee will submit its report in the first week of the next session of Parliament. When the bill was presented in Parliament, the opposition strongly opposed it. Apart from this, some allies of the government also gave suggestions regarding the bill, after which the government decided to send it to the JPC.

Now Zakir Naik has entered the issue of Waqf Bill. Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who fled from India and is living in Malaysia, has tried to provoke Indian Muslims regarding the Waqf Bill. Naik has issued a statement and appealed to Indian Muslims to stop this bill. Zakir Naik has said that Muslims should save Waqf properties and reject this bill.

An attempt to provoke Muslims?

Zakir Naik incited Muslims by saying that the current government is not as powerful as before, the opposition is also strong this time, so Muslims should fight for their rights and reject this bill. Naik has called the Modi government an anti-Muslim government and said that this government wants to usurp the property of Muslims. He said that only Muslims have the right over the Waqf property, non-Muslims are not allowed to use it.

Zakir Naik has said that Indian Muslims will have to come forward to stop this evil. Naik claimed that the Waqf Amendment Bill violates the sacred status of Waqf, and has a bad impact on the future of Islamic institutions. Zakir Naik told Indian Muslims that if this bill is passed, we and our future generations will have to face the wrath of God.

Naik said that at least 50 lakh Muslims are needed to stop the Waqf Amendment Bill. He released a link and asked Muslims to scan this QR code and send their rejection. Through this, one can send his disapproval on the Waqf Bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee.

Why is there a controversy over the Waqf Amendment Bill?

It is claimed that the Waqf Board has the most property in India after the Railways and the Defense Department. Without sufficient documents, the Waqf Board can claim any property, and there is also a ban on selling its property.

The Waqf Amendment Bill was brought by the Modi government with the aim of stopping the arbitrariness of the Waqf Board. Through this, 40 changes were to be made in the old law. According to the government, this amendment will bring transparency in the work of the Waqf Board.

In fact, the first law regarding the Waqf Board was made in 1954, after which some amendments were made in it in the years 1995 and 2013. It is believed that these amendments gave unlimited rights to the Waqf Board. Due to which complaints regarding the properties of the Waqf Board increased.

If this bill takes the form of law, then it will be necessary for the Waqf Board to register and verify the new property, the Waqf Board will not be able to claim the new property without sufficient documents and in case of dispute, the decision of the Waqf Tribunal can be challenged in the courts.
